Added text about the prognostic usefulness of gene-expression profiles (GEPs) in acute myeloid leukemia and specifically in predicting molecular subtypes; GEPs identified cases of core-binding factor leukemias that were not diagnosed using conventional cytogenetics (cited Valk et al. as reference 10, Haferlach et al. as reference 11, and Verhaak et al. as reference 12).

Added text about a study that examined mutations and treatment outcomes in cytogenetically normal acute myeloid leukemia patients who were treated with intensive induction and postremission regimens (cited Schlenk et al. as reference 43 and level of evidence 3iiiA).
